La Gartier Wedding Garters

Let's be real: Not all Disney-themed wedding garters are created equal. Some are absolutely gorgeous, while others edge on just.plain.cheesy. Years ago, when we set out to design princess-inspired wedding garters, we made one promise to ourselves: MAKE IT CLASSY.

Today, we have three different designer garters within our collection that are Disney-princess inspired. Each one contains subtle, ultra-classy hints at classic Disney elements. Keep reading below to learn more about each one. Let's start with our most popular design- The Ever After garter.

1. The Ever After Garter.

This designs was created for the bride who believes in happily ever after. Known for her undying belief in true love, this bride is the type of girl who has refused to let past experiences shut down her sparkle or stop her belief in living with an open heart & an undying romantic outlook on life. No matter what circumstances have been thrown her way, she has remained hopeful that she will one day meet her soulmate. (ie: prince charming.) 👑

And in this belief, she has been right. To her, the three most important qualities in her life-long-romeo are honesty, loyatly and devotion. More likely than not, she will be saying "I Do" in a gown that will stop people in their tracks upon seeing it. When asked if she likes sparkle, she will most likely respond: "Extra please." 💅🏻

2. The Glass Slipper Garter

This design was inspired by the character of Cinderella. Thus, the subtle "Cinderella-dress-blue" tones that you see in the jewels above.

Every detail of this garter was inspired by the bride who adores animals and is well-known for her compassionate nature. More likely than not, this bride is not a very loud person. In fact, she might be one of the quietest people at a party, but she is known for carrying herself with a grace that is unparalleled. 💅🏻 Anyone who knows this bride is well aware of the fact that she believes deeply in acts of service, whether it be volunteering to help abandoned animals or assisting the elderly who have become too old to be able to care for themselves anymore. 💗 🧵

With love and a strong sense of humanity in mind, we created this garter for the bride who is highly in tune with the needs of the people in just about any environment that she finds herself in. We repeat: She is a person who cannot help but LOVING other living things - no matter what their size, shape, color, or origin. 🥰

3. The Arendelle Garter

Inspired by the movie Frozen, we named this garter the Arendelle due to the fact that Arendelle was the name of the kingdom where Elsa and Anna lived. Created with Norwegian folklore and ice princess imagery in mind, this design features stones that are not only distinctly icicle like in color, but also in shape. ❄️🎀

Little known fact: Arendelle is actually a real town located in Austria. Seriously. Google it.

For this reason, this design would also work extremely well for a bride who adores the movie Frozen or Norwegian Icelandic fairytales.

(Bonus points for anyone wearing this garter on a wedding date that is set in the winter, due to the fact that it is an emblem of love + cold weather. Something winter blue? Check and check.)⛄️

Creating a wedding garter using a bride's mothers' wedding gown is a beautiful thing. It is a certain type of custom garter that we have been making for brides for years. In fact, we are becoming known for "repurposed" customizations of this kind and they are always an absolute honor to be asked to do so naturally I was taken aback when La Gartier bride Brittney Horton asked me to create a garter for her using her mother's wedding gown that was hand-sewn by her grandmother. Let me just repeat that in case the utter specialness of it can double-whammy: Brittney's mother's gown was created by Brittney's grandmother. And not only that but some of the sewing on the gown was done by hand, meaning that Brittney's grandmother most likely spent countless night with a needle and thread creating her daughter's gown. When Brittney asked me if she could sent me parts of the gown to transform into a wedding garter for her wedding, I couldn't say YES quickly enough. There was only one thing left to do after Brittney shipped me the fabric from her mother's gown: that is, we needed to make sure that her garter contained at least 1 powerful element that spoke directly to her relationship story. The ah-ha moment came when Brittney told me that her fiancé popped the question at Disneyworld...and that, furthermore, they had chosen a Disney resort in Hawaii as the location of their wedding! When she told me this, it became apparent very quickly that we needed to find a way to incorporate a Disney element into her garter as her small but powerful statement pendant. Below are final photos of her garters. This personalized wedding garter set is so beautiful because it perfectly juxtaposes heavy heirloom significance (with the grandmother/mother fabric) with the fun/cute/playful Disney element that almost every bride can relate to. Dear Brittney: I don't know who said that Disney-themed wedding accessories weren't chic. They apparently just didn't have the right materials.
