5 Custom Wedding Garters Sets That Will Take Your Breath Away
Are you a bride who is thinking about transforming your mother's wedding dress into a garter set? Or maybe you have a special neck tie that once belonged to your grandfather that you'd like to incorporate into your wedding day in some form or another. Whatever the case may be, we have rounded up five of the most breath-taking wedding garter sets from our archive today. For your viewing pleasure....and on the off chance that you need some inspiration, here are five of our most beloved custom garters from years past!1. La Gartier bride Rachel Bunch's Tiffany and Company Custom Wedding Garter SetLast year, we had the pleasure of creating a custom Tiffany and Company wedding garter set for La Gartier bride Rachel Bunch. She was in love with a tiny heart-shaped turquoise pendant that her now-husband had given her (as apart of a Tiffany and Company necklace). After getting to know Rachel via telephone and email, we decided that it would be so special to create an entire wedding garter set centered around the Tiffany and Company pendant. What you see above is just one photo of this Beyonce-worthy, ultra-luxurious garter set. But wait-- you have to see just one more photo of it. It's that special. If you look closely, you'll see the tiny heart-shaped Tiffany and Company pendant that Rachel shipped to us all the way from California. Creating this custom bridal garter set for Rachel was such a blast. Interested to see more? Click here to read the blog that we wrote in homage to this knock-out garter set.But wait. You have to see the next one! Keep scrolling!2. La Gartier bride Jordan Coleman's Custom NHL + Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Wedding Garter SetThis custom garter set was made using the bride's mother's wedding dress lace as well as pearls taken from her grandmother's gown. In this way, it represented three generations of Jordan's female lineage. To make things even more special, we included a blue Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders star (taken directly from Jordan's professional cheerleader outfit) as well as a tiny heart from her then-fiance's NHL gloves. Jordan married NJ Devils player Blake Coleman, who now plays for the Tampa Bay Lightning. This set was so multi-layered in meaning, that it is sure to be one of the most treasured heirloom items that Jordan will ever pass down to her daughters. I beam with pride and love when I look at these photos. Here is just one more image that we adore with all of our heart. This little patch that reads "Coleman" was taken from Blake's hockey glove and hand-sewn onto the inside of her Venus Pearl garter as a special memento. Isn't this just so unique and special!? Click here to read the article that we wrote in dedication to Jordan's garters, with no detail left unmentioned. But wait until you see this next one....3. La Gartier bride Genna Rybacki's Custom Dog Collar Wedding Garter SetIf you love dogs, then you are going to freak out over this one. This garter set was created using the bride's dog's puppy collar. Do you see that lycra flash of light pink in the photo above? That was once Genna's dog's collar when she was a puppy. I die. Already, I am resisting the urge to upload 15 different photos of this love-filled garter set for you to see! Not only did we use Genna's dog's puppy collar within her garter set, but we also incorporated a gold vintage "G" pendant to represent her first name, as well as her dog's favorite leopard print bandana as a hidden detail along the inside of her keepsake garter. Keep scrolling down to see more photos of this canine classic!Pictured above is a photo of the fabric that we took from Genna's dog's favorite neck bandana, printed in black and grey leopard spots. I adore this little detail almost as much as the pink dog collar itself. Almost.Ok, just one last photo and I'll stop. This was the little rubber branding tag that came with the collar when Genna shipped it to us last year. It read "Top Paw" and I think I just started crying. How adorable? Right? If you'd like to see more photos of this truly one-of-a-kind garter set, click here to read the full article! Not a dog lover? No problem. Keep scrolling to see the next drop-dead original custom garter set!4. La Gartier bride Sydney Mann's Re-Purposed Prom Dress Wedding Garter SetIf you were getting ready to marry the man who you had dated in high school and had taken you to prom, what are the chances that you'd love to use your prom dress within your garter set? For our client Sydney Mann, the chances were one hundred percent! This vibrant, jewel-covered garter set was created for Sydney using the fabric from the very prom dress that her now-hubby picked her up in the night of their senior prom. To this day, I marvel at the sheer uniqueness that this set embodies. Honestly, I don't think there has been one single other garter made that it similar to it. No seriously-- google it. I've searched the internet high and low...and I feel fairly certain that Syndey and I created a true unicorn in the world of wedding garters. But wait. Look how gorgeous this next photo is!Taken on her wedding day, this is what her custom garter set looked like with her other wedding accessories, including her pearl studded Jimmy Choo heels. Every time I look at this photo, I take a little pause. Can someone say blinded by the beauty?!Ok, just one last photo. Promise. This is an image I snapped with my Iphone during the creation process. I will never forget how hard it was to cut into this perfect tulle prom dress! I was so nervous but now that Sydney has the final product in her hands, I just know that we created a true heirloom wedding garter set! Interested to see more? Click here to read the blog that we wrote years ago about Syndey's re-purposed prom dress garter set.Ready for the very last custom garter set of the day? Get ready. It's sporty to say the least....5. La Gartier Bride AbbyJo's Custom Spice Girls Wedding Garter SetI am not going to lie. When AbbyJo first told me that she wanted to create a custom SpiceGirls inspired garter set, I was unsure of it. I was worried that it would come out cheesy...or lack elegance of some sort. But whoa-- was I wrong. When I look at the photos of her set now, all I see is FUN. In fact, this might be the most fun garter set ever created. (The bride whom it was created for certainly was!)Pictured above: AbbyJo's custom garter set inside of our signature La Gartier box. We ended up making three different designs for Abby-- one to keep, one to toss and one more to keep and potentially pass down to her daughter someday assuming she has one. My favorite part of designing this set was blasting Spice Girls during the creation process. It was honestly such a return to the 2000s and I was all about it.Just one last photo. Promise. This is the little hankie that we made in addition to her garters. It read "Two Become One" in homage to the infamous Spice Girls song from their first album. I don't know what it is about this photo. It's just so cute to me with the wording.Ok everyone! I think that that is all for today! I could go on forever and ever about some of our past custom designs, however hopefully the five listed above is enough to inspire you to have one made for yourself! If you are interested in commissioning us to create a truly one-of-a-kind garter for you using your mother's wedding dress, your dog's dollar, the Tiffany Pendant that your fiance bought for you, your high school prom dress, or really anything that you adore & holds meaning, then email us at hello@lagartier.com so that we can help you!And now for the fine print: -

Custom Garter Spotlight: La Gartier Bride Tasha Tagliani Davis's Custom Bridal Garter Set Made Using Her Grandmother's Wedding Dress And Her Mother's Wedding Dress
This incredible wedding garter set was made using the bride's mother's wedding gown as well as her grandmother's wedding gown. When Tasha Tagliani first contacted us, I was floored for two reasons: one, her request was just the sort of thing that we love doing and two, because she was an editor for Rocky Mountain Bride Magazine. I had long been a huge fan of Rocky Mountain Bride Magazine, so I welcomed this project with joy. After an initial phone consultation that went well over an hour, Tasha decided to ship us two very special gowns in order to have us transform them into her wedding garter set. You MUST SEE the creation video!!Click here to watch just a few glimpses of the creation process! To see the final photos and to read more about the special details that make this custom garter set absolutely incredible, keep scrolling below!Tasha married the love of her life, Kaelan Davis, on June 26th, 2020 at The Tenth in Vail, Colorado. To say that her wedding was classy would be a total understatement. Here, above, you can see what Tasha's wedding garters look like from the front. We decided to use the Vienna garter as her keepsake and the Hayley garter as her second design, but then customize them by adding her mother's dress fabric and her grandmother's dress fabric. Keep scrolling to see the special custom detailing! The back band of Tasha's knock-out keepsake garter was made using the lace from her mother's dress. Specifically, what you are seeing here is the lace that was once apart of the sleeve of her mother's gown. My favorite part is all of the little ivory pearls that you see all over the lace. These are 100% heirloom and 100% deeply meaningful. If you look closely, you will see a dainty 14K gold butterfly pendant at the center of her Hayley garter. We decided to include this because butterflies are extremely special to Tasha and her mother. In fact, we also included a butterfly motif on all of Tasha's custom hankies, which we will show off in just a moment! To take the heirloom-integrity of this set from a ten to a solid fifteen, we also decided to add her wedding date and the first letter of her new last name (D for Davis) onto the inside of her garter in tiffany blue! Isn't that just the prettiest "something blue" detail that you have ever seen?!An up close look at the heirloom lace taken from Tasha's mother's wedding dress and the pearls from her grandmother's wedding dress. I die. This photo of Tasha's wedding garters inside of our signature La Gartier box gets me every single time. I just love how our packaging adds that finishing touch to the entire set!The one and only Tasha Tagliani Davis on her wedding day!June 26th, 2020Vail, ColoradoBut wait-- look how utterly classy her veil was! *swooning*Above is a photo of just one of the custom wedding hankies that we made for Tasha. The base was made using her grandmother's dress fabric and the lace edging that you see was taken from her mother's wedding gown! We than embroidered an intricate blue butterfly onto each one. I still freeze when I look at these. They were so precious and they made for the best gifts for her family! My favorite photo is this one! Tasha's photographer managed to capture the moment when she gave her father his special La Gartier custom handkerchief. It is moments like these that keep us going! This photo was the very first photo that Tasha sent us after the wedding. I actually started crying. It was such an honor to know that that is how much she loved her wedding garters as well as her custom hankie set!Dear Tasha, if you are reading this: it has been such a pleasure to work with you. In addition, thank you so much for including La Gartier in some of Rocky Mountain Bride's blog posts and magazine features. It was such a blast to make these for you. As I look back over everything we created, it is really realize just how much magic we created in such a short time span! Custom Garter Spotlight: La Gartier bride Misty Goff Green's MLB Baseball Wedding Garter Set Using her Mother's Wedding Dress
What happens when you take a professional Major League Baseball glove and combine it with your mother's wedding dress and then turn it into a wedding garter? Magic. That's what happens. This is precisely what we did last year when Misty Green (then Goff) contacted us regarding creating a custom garter set for her wedding. Originally, Misty only wanted to send us lace from her mother's wedding dress, however after our initial phone consultation, we decided that it would be so special to include something from her hubby's baseball uniform. When they first met, he was playing professionally and they had to stay apart for quite awhile due to all kinds of circustances in their relationship. After talking to Misty for over an hour, we both decided that we should include something from his baseball glove to symbolize not only his number #1 life passion (baseball) but also the beginning of their relationship story.Oh my lord in heaven I will never forget when Misty's package arrived at our studio. She had gone to great lengths to cut a strip of leather from his glove herself, so the tiny leather patch that says "Greenie" was already perfectly small and easy to work with. As before-mentioned, she also sent me lace from her mother's wedding dress. I was floored immediately. I just knew that this project was going to be special and IT WAS. Keep scrolling down to see pictures of the final product!Misty and I decided to use the little "Greenie" patch from her now-hubby's baseball glove on the back side of her garters! In addition, we used a tiny, authentic MLB patch on her second garter to further emphasize the significance of baseball in their relationship. Do you see all of those sparkling rhinestones around the perimeter of the MLB patch? Those were hand-placed by us in our Atlanta, Georgia studio for extra sparkle! The front side of her garter set was all about sparkle, femininity and iridescence! Here is an up-close photo of the details on Misty's primary keepsake garter? All of the tiny ivory pearls were hand-sewed by us. They are heirloom pearls that encapsulate a TON of meaning within her family! Eeep! I tear up when I look over these photos! The memories of creating this garter set are so special to me!My favorite part? We decided to include the tag from Misty's mother's gown on the inside of her garter! I am obsessed with vintage labels and love how this little detail is hidden on the inside for Misty's eyes only! The lace and tiny flowers that line the back side of Misty's garters were taken from her mom's dress, with a special cameo from her grandmother's wedding. At the center, we carefully sewed Grant's MLB patch using leather working tools.Last, but not least, we decided to make one additional garter for Misty. That way, she could use it for tossing...thereby allowing her to be able to keep and cherish her two primary garters for years to come. This photo was taken on Misty's wedding day. Can you believe how beautiful they look on her leg? I have a feeling I will never delete this photo from our business photo library. Like ever. One more photo of Misty wearing her garters! This time, the photo is from the back side, which perfectly showcases the two MLB patches that we included! One last photo! Promise! This is Misty glowing on her wedding day. I can barely take my eyes off of the train on her gown. This epic bride and this even more epic project was so fun to make!! Dear Misty, from me to you: thank you for trusting La Gartier with such a monumental project. I will literally never forget the romance that we brought to life!

Custom Garter Spotlight: La Gartier Bride Alexa Radis's Wedding Garter Set Made Using Her Grandmother's Wedding Dress and Her Mother's Wedding Dress
In the world of custom wedding garters, this project was a mega-home-run. Not only did this bride send me fabric from her grandmother's veil but she also sent me lace from her mother's wedding gown to be transformed into a custom wedding garter set. We even made a set of bridal hankies for her that were truly magical. Keep scrolling to see the final product! When La Gartier bride Alexa Radis first reached out to us in 2019, she told us that she only wanted one thing: to have her grandmother's veil fabric and her mother's dress fabric blended together into one incredible wedding garter set. I was so thrilled that she had reached out, because I learned that she was coming to Atlanta shortly thereafter, which meant that I could meet her in person to pick up her precious heirloom fabric materials! After our initial phone consultation, I learned that she was from a huge horse-loving family, so we decided to incorporate a special gold + diamond studded horse shoe pendant that she had been given as a young girl. Keep scrolling down to watch the magic get bigger and bigger! The back band of her keepsake garter was made using fabric from her mother's wedding gown. Do you see the slightly aging lace off to the left? This was taken from her mom's wedding gown and lovingly sewn into an elasticized back band for her sparkling Vienna garter. We also created a set of unbelievable heirloom hankies for Alexis. The one you see here incorporated lace from her grandmother's veil as well as tiny pearls taken from her mom's love-infused wedding gown.Even now, as I write this, I still can't believe how beautifully everything came out. The best part? Alexis was engaged to a man whose family also loved horses, so the tiny gold horseshoe pendant was doubly meaningful.Alexis's garters were deeply meaningful because they represented three generations of women in her family: her grandmother, her mother, and then Alexis herself. I almost faint when I think of how much of an honor it is to be trusted with such love-filled materials. A project of this kind can be described as nothing less than "love craft."Then, to top things off, Alexis and I decided to make a ring bearer pillow at the last minute. I mean, we still had so much material left over from her mother's gown that it would have been a shame not to use it. This ring bearer pillow stands to be one of my favorites that we have ever made. The lace that you see covering the base of the pillow was taken from her mother's gown, but do you see those ties at the center? Those are literally the straps from her grandmother's wedding gown. I die. Seriously...so much love in one tiny pillow! This colossal wedding garter set + ring bearer pillow + hankie set project was so fun to make for Alexis. I know I have said it before, but to be trusted with fabric that is so incredibly significant to two generations of her family is about as touching as it gets. Dear Alexis, from me to you: thank you for trusting La Gartier with such a monumental project. I will literally never forget the romance of this project.

Custom Garter Spotlight: AbbyJo Oliver's Spice Girls Wedding Garter Set
I can honestly say that I will never look at Spice Girls the same again. Seriously, after working on this special custom garter, the Spice Girls will forever be immortalized in my heart as something extra special. Please allow me to explain....Last year, we had the pleasure of meeting a bride named AbbyJo Luquette at a trunk show at AnnaBe Bridal in Denver, Colorado who had the most energetic, bubbly disposition. On that day, she told me that she was a huge Spice Girls fan...and that some of her wedding day decor was going to be inspired by the Spice Girls. At first, I was skeptical because I couldn't envision a high-end, ultra-classy way to work Spice Girls insignia into a wedding day, but as time went on, I slowly started to see her vision come to life via instagram...and I was convinced. Fast forward six months later, and AbbyJo reached out to us via email to ask us to create a custom Spice Girls themed wedding garter set for her using not only elements of the British flag, but also lace from her mother's wedding gown. When AbbyJo first reached out to us, I knew only one thing for sure: the only way we were going to bring this beautiful Spice Girls garter set to life is if we kept the entire design SUPER CLASSY and HIGH-END. I had spent time looking online at other Spice Girls wedding accessories, and most of them were super cheesy in my opinion. (And when I say "most" of them, I mean all of them.) When AbbyJo offered to ship me lace from her mother's wedding dress, that is the moment that I knew we had a true heirloom-worthy project in front of us. I was over-the-moon excited with inspiration! We ended up creating a total of three custom garters for AbbyJo: one for her to keep, one for her to wear during her bachelorette party in Vegas and an extra one for her to toss. In addition, we created a set of Spice-Girls-inspired wedding hankies for her too. Each one was so special. I am literally tearing up just thinking about this beautiful project! For her keepsake garter, we used our beloved Vienna garter (from our collection) as the base. Then, we hand-crafted a back band for her garter using lace from her mother's wedding dress. For her toss, we used a custom British flag grosgrain ribbon to symbolize AbbyJo's love of the Spice Girls. One of my favorite details about AbbyJo's set was that the inside ribbon of her keepsake garter featured the same British flag ribbon that we used on her toss garter. It was a very special, hidden detail that both AbbyJo and myself were obsessed with.Interested in seeing the creative process? Click here to watch the making of her garters from beginning to end!
(Side note: As of December 26th, 2021, we are currently booked out until March of 2022 for customizations. If you are interested in booking one of our monthly spots to commission us to create a garter set for you, please email hello@lagartier.com!)
