Bringing Wedding Garters Back One Sparkle at a Time
I am honestly not sure how wedding garters ever fell by the wayside as a basic wedding accessory. It seemed that they were on fire during the seventies and eighties, but by the nineties, they had stopped being a go-to, must-have wedding accessory. Perhaps this was due to the fact that their design was never updated. However, if there is one thing that is for sure: I intend to bring them back, one sparkle at a time. This week, I owe photographer Holly Trizzino of Intimately Inspiring Photography a BIG thank you for helping me in my hot pursuit of this aim. With her help, along with our model, Carly Grace, I feel one step closer to revolutionizing the world of wedding garters. The photos below were taken as apart of a bridal boudior shoot that Holly, Carly and I put together about four weeks ago. When I saw the images being taken in Holly's camera, I knew we were in for a treat but I honestly didn't know just how much of a treat. Can someone say gorgeous??Below are just a few of my favorite photos from this month's beautiful photoshoot, with a little bit of information below each photo about the design elements and outfit details in each photo! The Florentine garter as worn by Carly Grace of Carly Grace Yoga. If you love this garter as much as we do, you can click here to see it in our shop. It's warm. It's romantic. It's sparkly. It's everything you want on your wedding day.The lingerie that Carly wears here is from an unbelievable company based in Canada called Lola and August. Their quality is unbelievable! If you are looking for amazing bridal lingerie, then you must check them out!I am a huge believer in adding floral elements to ANY bridal boudior shoot. They not only give you something to do with your hands, but they add so much femininity and just a touch of color to every photo. Fun fact: this particular batch of roses were on sale at my local grocery for less than ten dollars. I actually recommend buying a sale bouquet versus a new bouquet, because the roses are generally a little more open. As long as the petals are wilting, then buying a dozen roses from your local grocery store will save you a TON of money. Promise. Here, Carly wears the Florentine garter with a set of lingerie from....wait for it...wait for it.. Victoria's Secret. *mind blown"Never underestimate the power of a plain white furry rug in any bridal photos EVER.super cute x 10,000, right? All white everything.A big thank you to photographer Holly Trizzino Photography for being such a talented, angel of a woman. And thank you to Carly Grace for being such a model yogi doll for us last Saturday. Shoots like this are why we continue on our mission to BRING WEDDING GARTERS BACK ONE SPARKLE AT A TIME. -

My Favorite Color is Easter.
I have a hard time putting into words just how much I love Easter. I mean seriously, what other holiday celebrates adorable baby animals, features a purely-pastel color pallet, and encourages us to dye our food? If there is such thing as a spirit holiday, Easter is mine. This Easter, I decided to celebrate this unbelievably beautiful holiday by creating glitterized Easter eggs. (Pretty sure I just made up a word there. Don't tell anyone.) "Glitterized" Easter eggs are better than dyed Easter eggs for two reasons:1. they are original2. they sparkleSome might argue that creating them is an absolute mess, and an utter waste of time but I would argue that dyed Easter eggs are just plain boring. Seriously, I was bored of them in 1993 and I was like ten then. (Btw-total side note: I also tried to inject pink food coloring into the yolk of my egg before hard boiling them simply to see if I could get a "pink on the outside, pink on the inside" egg but it turned into a total mess so I gave up. BUT I am determined to get it right next year.) But I diverge from my point. What I am trying to say is that anything-but-dyed Easter eggs should totally be a thing, which they might already be according to my good friend Maggie. I'm not sure. I honestly haven't googled it. We have been too busy making wedding garters and fun glitter egg videos like the one below!!! Happy Easter everyone!!! And if you love the garter I am wearing in this video, then you can click here to see it in our online shop! -

Published! Our Art Deco Aurora Wedding Garter featured on Ruffled Blog today!
It is with great pleasure that I announce that our shoot with Alexis June Weddings was published on the uber-popular wedding blog Ruffled today! If you are a greenery-obsessed bride-to-be like so many that I know, then you are going to ADORE this shoot! Personally, I am partial to the gorgeous images of our Aurora garter and the classic ivory Jimmy Choo wedding heels that appear about halfway through this unbelievalbly EPIC editiorial collaboration, but perhaps that is because the Aurora garter has been apart of our collection for nearly 4 years now. Call me biased. Call me partial. Call me whatever you want because I am on cloud nine about this feature today!
A big thank you to Brandi of Alexis June Weddings for inviting us to be apart of this shoot last winter and to Jimmy Choo for providing the prettiest wedding heels a girl could ask for.
If you love these images as much as we do, you can click here to see the full post. And if you would like to make this garter your own for your wedding day, then please click here to be directed to where the Aurora garter resides on our site. Happy La Gartier everyone! -

Hot Stuff: Every Order in April Will Receive This Exclusive Polka Dot Netting Wrapped Around The Box!
Fun fact: every order that is placed in April will receive a box wrapped in polka dot netting. Not sure what polka dot netting is? See a few photos below for an idea of what this unbelievably fun fabric looks like. Almost all of the photos below are pictures of Immacle wedding gown (my newest and fiercest obsession) however there are two at the very bottom that have nothing to do with Immacle at all.But alas, I diverge from my point. What I am trying to say is that if you place your order with us in April, then your La Gartier box will come wrapped in ribbons of this lovely fabric, simply because we value the art of pretty packaging. Happy La Gartier everyone! If you have any questions at all, please feel free to email us at info@lagartier.com! And if you are interested in seeing more of this designers' beautiful gowns, please click here to be directed to her website. -

Jimmy Choo's Luna heels with our limited edition iridescent rhinestone "Sydney" garter
If Jimmy Choo were in a boxing ring with Christian Louboutin or Guiseppe Zanotti, I would bet on Jimmy Choo everytime. Wait. Actually, I take that back. If Jimmy Choo were in a boxing ring with Christian Louboutin and Guiseppe Zanotti, I would bet my money on Jimmy Choo everytime.(Side thought: think scrawny but scrappy Englishman named Jimmy in a ring against two men that are larger than him-- one is a beret-wearing Parisian artist named Christian and the other is a hefty, linguini-obsessed Italian named Guiseppe Zanotti. Yeah. I would still bet on Jimmy.)Suffice to say, Jimmy Choo is my favorite designer of luxury bridal shoes...and not just because I think that they are the prettiest. I also have heard that they are the most comfortable from many of my MRS. friends and clients. So, you can imagine my utter joy last month when photographer Brandi Schaffran-Webb of Alexis June Weddings sent me over a dozen photos of our new "Sydney" garter paired next to Jimmy Choo's new "Luna" heels!!! The Luna heels are one of my favorites on the market at the moment because they are inspired by the night sky, which is exactly what Hayley Paige's recent collection personifies. In fact, I love this motif so much that we recently released a limited-edition garter called the "Sydney" (see pics below) which was inspired by something I call "Galactic Glam" (think of the same night sky, celestial romance, star-chic look that both Hayley P. and Jimmy Choo are channelling at the moment. Below are both photos of our phenomenal "Sydney" garter as well as Jimmy Choo's Luna heels. (a perfect and oh-so original "something blue" if I ever did see one. Hint hint)Jimmy > Christian & Guiseppe
