Something Cornflower Blue: La Gartier bride Kama Holtzman's Personalized Wedding Garter Set
Not all garters are created equal. I realize that, as the spokeswoman for my own business, I should tell you that everyone of our designs are equally beautiful. However, this just isn't true. There are certain wedding garter designs (especially personalized garter designs!) that knock it so far out of the park, that I just can't help but brag about them. One of these designs came last month, when I created La Gartier bride Kama Holtzman's wedding garter set. Kama first contacted me with the hope that I could create a french lace and blue satin garter with heirloom potential for her February 2018 wedding, however once we got started on her design, it took on a life of its own and bloomed into an design worthy of the word MASTERPIECE. Below are photos of all three of Kama's garters: one to keep, one to pass down and one to throw. Underneath each photo is a little bit of written information about each garter, so make sure to read those little babies too!! (And keep in mind that if you are interested in a personalized garter of your own, then we would LOVE to work with you!! Simply email info@lagartier.com or use the contact form by clicking here.)
Kama's garter were made using the prettiest cornflower blue satin as the base. For her keepsake, we decided to "overlay" this satin with an exquisite (and expensive) ivory french lace. Why? Because nothing says heirloom quite like imported french lace. (To me anyway. But Kama agrees, so that makes two.)
Kama's toss garter might just be the cutest toss garter in the history of man. At the center, just under the bow, is a tiny engraved bar pendant that says "You're Next." That way, when one of the single men at Kama's wedding catches the garter, they will have no doubts regarding its significance. When Kama suggested that we include the "You're Next" saying, my jaw almost hit the floor. If there were such a thing as a "cute idea trophy," then I would award one to Kama with ACDC playing.
On the inside of Kama's keepsake garter, we included her wedding date PLUS her & her fiance's initials. When I think of Kama passing this garter down to her daughter someday, I tear up at the idea that Kama's "something blue" will someday be her daughter's "something blue" (cue the tears)
Kama's original toss garter (which she will never actually toss) was a custom version of our blue pearl garter. But take a look at what we added along the back to personalized it!
Isn't it amazing? Along the back of Kama's blue pearl toss garter, we included her wedding hashtag #kamjam2018!! Honestly, how did we live before the perfect adorableness of wedding hashtags?!
Another, close up photo of the wedding hashtag embroidery detail along the back of Kama's blue pearl garter. I can't think of a more modern and sweet personalized detail than the inclusion of her wedding hashtag! Don't you agree?
Kama, I can't wait to see photos of your gorgeous garters with your unbelievably beautiful wedding gown on your wedding day! (Don't worry, my lips are sealed!) Creating this personalized wedding garter set for you has been nothing short of a dream!SIDE NOTE: if you love these photos as much as we do and would like to speak with someone about having a custom garter made for yourself or someone whom you love, then please feel free to contact us via email at info@lagartier.com OR you can use the contact form by clicking here. A Vintage Locket & Opal Wedding Garter For La Gartier bride Victoria Henderson
As June comes to a close, so does all of our June customizations. This month, I worked with three different brides to create 3 completely unique wedding garters sets. While I don't usually play favorites, I have to say that June's "winning" custom garter design is La Gartier bride Victoria Henderson's vintage locket and opal garter set. (see photos and captions below!)When Victoria contacted us last March to book her custom garter, she told me that she wanted something that matched her gown as well as the beading on her sash. I agreed to take on her customization immediately, expecting it to turn out just like her gown.......... but her garters ended up being SO MUCH MORE!! Here are just a few photos of Victoria's garter set along with some written info about my favorite designs elements:The rose gold locket at the center of her toss is an original antique that Victoria and I stumbled across on Etsy. We just about died when we found this one because "M" is the first initial of her fiancé' name: Montana. We weren't even looking for an engraved locket, let alone one engraved with an "M"....but it's my personal opinion that this BEAUTY found its way to us for the creation of her garters. Meant to be? Yes, yes and yes!
The pink velvet ribbon on her toss garter was chosen to match her bridesmaids dresses as well as the slight blush pink tone of her Enzoani bridal gown. Also, the opal and rhinestone beading on her keepsake matches the beading on her sash, but not so matchy matchy that it's obnoxious.
Her wedding date and initials are embroidered on the inside of her garter in navy blue to match her groomsmens tuxes. (This means that Victoria has not only one but two "something blues" for her wedding day!)Because Victoria didn't want to toss her vintage "M" locket garter, we created this amazing "G" inspired toss for her. That way, she could keep the vintage locket design and still do the garter toss. (G is the first letter of her new last name! So appropriate, right?!)
The only thing not pictured here is all of the beautiful custom packaging that we created when we packed up her garters to be shipped!! Also not pictured here is the look on her daughter's face 30 years from now when Victoria gives her one or both of these garters for her very own wedding day!! <insert happy tears emoji>Victoria, I can't wait to hear about what you decide to put into the locket. Knowing how much you love florals and greenery, I have a feeling it will be something organic from your wedding day but anything you decide will most likely be beyond gorgeous! If you love these photos as much as we do and would like to speak with someone about having a custom garter made for yourself or someone whom you love, then please feel free to contact us via email at info@lagartier.com OR you can use the contact form by clicking here. A Rose Gold "Faith" Wedding Garter for La Gartier Bride Kelly Lane Mangum
La Gartier bride Kelly Lane Mangum had a stunning wedding in Atlanta, Georgia at the beginning of June. How do I know for sure? Because I was there!! I met Kelly through the Atlanta wedding industry years ago as she is a highly sought after event/wedding photographer in ATL......and on June 3rd, I had the pleasure of attending her insanely chic nuptials. Just imagine a helipad, a 365 degree view of the Atlanta skyline, gorgeous black and white decor, plus one of the prettiest Hayley Paige gown in the world. (Full disclosure: I say that about every Hayley Paige gown!) In short, Kelly's wedding was the epitome of what you think of when you think of a urban-chic wedding. However, as a guest, I was privy to more than just how things looked from the outside. That is, I was witness to a wedding that was not only pretty on the outside but also warm, romantic and full of love on the inside. Seriously, I couldn't stop crying during the ceremony. And I'm not talking about light, pat-at-your-eyes-with-a-napkin crying. I'm talking about downright Kim K. ugly crying. No joke, I don't even know how I became that emotional in public. Perhaps I have grown closer to Kelly than I realized. I did, after all, create her gorgeous wedding garter for her. (see photos below)For Kelly's garter, I created a custom version of our Florentine garter, complete with "something blue" embroidery on the inside, commemorating the date of Kelly's wedding on the inner part of her garter. Then, to make it even more special, I created an all black satin toss garter for her, with a very special silver and gold cross pendant at the center. Why might you ask? Because Kelly and Michael met in youth group over eight years ago!!! And perhaps more importantly, because faith is an absolutely paramount ingredient within their relationship.Dear Kelly, thank you from the bottom of my heart for inviting me to your wedding!!! (#loveyou #meanit)Creating your custom "Florentine Faith" garter set was an absolute blast!Side note: If you love these photos as much as we do and would like to speak with someone about having a custom garter made for yourself or someone whom you love, then please feel free to contact us via email at info@lagartier.com OR you can use the contact form by clicking here. Happy La Gartier everyone!La Gartier bride Kelly Lane Mangum's wedding garters photographed by Milanes PhotographyKelly's toss garter had a gold and silver cross at the center to represent the one thing that matters most in her relationship: faithMy favorite part?
