When I first spoke with La Gartier bride Kayla Shudy on the phone, I instantly felt a connection to not only her as a person but also her story. I could tell that Kayla was sweet, honest, and lived her life with a full and open heart. As I listened to her talk, I sensed that her garters were going to be amazing-- and they were. By the time we had finished her phone consultation, I felt more determined than ever to create a wedding garter set for her that reflected not only her beautiful heart but also her story. Why? Well, I can write it down here in words but I don't feel that I will ever truly be able to convey the beauty of Kayla's custom wedding garter set. The back story: Kayla's mother passed away in 2011, shortly after meeting Kayla's soon-to-by hubby. When Kayla got engaged, she knew that she wanted to be able to have her mother with her in some way on her wedding day, but wasn't sure how. When she heard about our custom designs, she reached out and asked us if she could send us a sleeve from her mother's wedding dress so that we could use the fabric within her wedding garter design. (We call these designs "repurposed" wedding garter designs and I adore them with all of my creative being.)So, Kayla shipped us the sleeve to our Atlanta studio and we got to work right away. Little did I know that the garter set that would be born of our meeting would end up being one of the prettiest custom garters this side of the Mississippi. The elements of Kayla's design were so multi-layered and UNIQUE that I can't think of anything else to do but bullet-point them! Scroll through the photos below to learn more about deeply meaningful custom wedding garter set.The butterfly that you see at the center of Kayla's toss was special due to the fact that it was Kayla's mothers' favorite symbol. Not only that, but it also served as Kayla's "something blue."The best part? This locket was a vintage find, so it also serves as Kayla's "something old". I am literally dying to know what Kayla is going to decide to put inside the locket on her wedding day.The back band of Kayla's keepsake garter was embellished with dozens of tiny sequins and pearls that were taken from the sleeve of her mother's vintage wedding gown. *grabs tissues*I knew that Kayla was not going to want to toss her vintage butterfly locket garter, so I created a third REAL toss garter for her that featured a silver "O" charm at the center (which, as you can guess, is the first letter of her new last name.)La Gartier bride Kayla Shudy's wedding garters inside of our signature box. I have no words to describe how honored I feel to be a small part of such a significant day in Kayla's life. I can only hope that we made her mother proud.

Custom Garter Spotlight: La Gartier Bride Nicole Hoffman's Pink Police Officer- Inspired Wedding Garter Set
If you look up La Gartier bride Nicole Hoffman on Instagram, the first thing that it says is "Fiance." The second thing that it read is "lover of all things pink and sparkly." When I read this, I just knew that Nicole and I were going to get along. Little did I know that the garter set that would be born of our meeting would be just that: pink and sparkly. The back story: Nicole first contacted me with the hope that I could create a police-officer-inspired wedding garter for her October 2017 nuptials. (She is marrying a man who has been in the police for for the past 2 years and in the military before that. Basically, a man with bravery in excess.) However, Nicole and I both agreed that her garter shouldn't look like traditional police-inspired garters that you see on, say, Etsy or other online stores. (ie: thin blue line theme, super cheap bright blue organza, etc.) On the contrary, Nicole requested a garter that exuded feminity and utter girliness in the heart of the design, with a beautiful but understated nod to her soon-to-be-hubby's profession at the center. Below are photos of all three of Nicole's garters: one to keep, one to pass down and one to throw. Underneath each photos is a little bit of written information about each garter, so make sure to read those little babies too! (Note: please keep in mind that if you are interested in a personalized garter of your own, then we would LOVE to work with you!! Simply email email@example.com or use the contact form by clicking here.)
For Nicole's garter set, we ordered an unbelievably beautiful locket from My Beloved Collection that was engraved with her soon-to-be-hubby's badge number. Dear Nicole, the number "258" will forever remind me of you and the love you have for Sam. <insert weeping Holy Matrimoji emoji here>
"ballet slipper pink" was the name of the satin that we used on all 3 of Nicole's garters.
The bow at the center of Nicole's toss garter (which she will actually never end up tossing!) was a slightly iridescent white satin ribbon which is more or less a unicorn in the world of fine ribbons.
All of the trim that we used on the tapered ends of Nicole's garters was made using a fine iridescent "horse hair" trim, which gave her whole design a magical, almost-mermaid-like feeling to it. I'm pretty sure that if you looked up the word "playful" in the dictionary, this is the trim you would see.
I honestly can't decide which garter I like the most! As someone who truly loves all things pink and sparkly, I can honestly say that this might be the prettiest police-officer wedding garter set ever created. Nicole, I am so happy that we met! We get all the A+ star stickers for this one!

If peach is the tropical cousin of pink, then blush pink is the uber-feminine little sister, constantly redesigning her bedroom and always speaking in a soft voice. Seriously, it makes sense to me that blush pink is an extremely popular wedding color. It embodies romanticism so effortlessly, so easily....that's its almost suspicious. Here at La Gartier, we offer quite a few different pink options within our collection, but none of them are as gorgeous as our Blush Pink Sweetheart garter. (see photos below for a visual). This garter is absolutely stunning not only for the fact that the base color is blush pink (a statement in itself), but also because it has a french lace overlay and a tiny tiny rhinestone at the center of the bow. (for the bride who wants a touch of sparkle but not too much!) The best part? We are able to custom make this beauty to fit your leg perfectly as long as you do not mind leaving us your leg measurement in the "comments" section of your check out! Below are multiple photos of our infamous Blush Pink Sweetheart garter as well as a leg measurement guide for all of you that want a perfect fit for your garter!Thank you for staying so loyal through the years and please let us know if you have any questions at all by using the contact form here. Happy La Gartier everyone!Front view- blush pink silk underlay with a exquisite french lace overlay. At center: one single light light ivory satin bow with sparkling rhinestone detail in the middle.Side view- the eyelash detailing at the bottom of the lace is one of my favorite precious details on this garter. The Blush Pink Sweetheart garter inside of our signature La Gartier box. Currently, we have a much prettier box than the one in the above photo. (this was our old box. It got us through for years but we upgraded in 2016 to a box that will blow your mind. Everything about it screams luxury. To see a photo of it, please click here and click through the photos.)
