Boho Wedding Garters for the Boho Glam Bride
The arrival of summer means the smell of sunscreen, entire days spent in bikinis and a diet comprised of fruit and popsicles. (maybe just me?) However, here at La Gartier, it also means the release of a BRAND NEW limited edition design. And this summer, it's all about boho glam. While we aren't releasing photos of our new limited edition just yet, we are definitely revealing teaser videos and photos to prepare you all for the mega-boho-beauty that is about to take over our collection. If you follow us on instagram or Twitter, then you have probably already seen a few of the images that have inspired the design of our newest-limited edition design, however if you have not, then below are a few pictures (and even a written description!) of the inspiration behind our newest limited-edition wedding garter design.She has been named the "Electric Boho" garter. And when I tell you that she stays true to her name, I mean it. And now for a confession: if you are a bride who identifies with anything that you see below, then you are going to go absolutely B-A-N-A-N-A-S over the Electric Boho garter. The only bad news is that we are releasing only 10 of these beauties, so it will be a first-come, first-serve situation once it is released on July 10th. I am going to say that one more time: there are only 10 of these available. Custom Garter Spotlight: La Gartier Bride Carly Grace Hinchman's Pink and Opal Wedding Garter Set
If you live in Atlanta and you are even slightly apart of the fitness scene, then you most likely know Carly Grace Hinchman. She is known as the yoga barbie around town. She drives a pink jeep, wears the loudest yoga pants you can find and owns her own yoga studio - Thunderbolt Power Yoga -- in Buckhead. I had the pleasure of meeting Carly years ago when I first started practicing yoga and then again when both she and I were selected as Jezebel Magazine's 20 Most Eligible Atlantans. (2014 was crazy. Don't even get me started on what it was like to be called out as single in front of 70,000 readers.)Fast forward to 2017 ---> Carly Grace is no longer receiving press for being an eligible bachelorette. No, instead she is receiving press for being one of the most sucessful new yoga studios in Atlanta and for being engaged!!! That's right-- Carly Grace is getting ready to walk down the aisle in just seven short days!! And I had the utter pleasure of being asked to create her wedding garters. As soon as she asked me, I knew immediately that the design should contain two essential signature "yoga barbie" elements:1. The color pink2. An adorable elephant charmWhy the elephant do you ask? On the walls of Carly's studio are two beautiful elephant murals (see photos below) that have come to symbolize Thunderbolt Power Yoga's playful & youthful allure, so I knew that her set needed to have an elephant on it is some way. I felt passionately convinced that it would be the perfect shout out to her favorite animal. So, I set to work with the shopping trips for the pink velvet and the elephant charm right away.Below are detailed photos of Carly's unbelievably special wedding garter set! Carly chose our infamous Athena garter as her keepsake piece. For her toss (which she will most likely never toss!) we decided to use a light pink velvet fabric for the body, with a silver elephant charm at the center.
Peep the elephants murals on the wall. Don't you just love them?!
I can't tell which I like more-- the little iridescent rhinestone eye or the little carved heart on the rump!
On the inside of Carly's toss garter, we added her wedding hashtag #marryingmilyo in blue. She told me she cried when she saw this. Which leads me to a question-- why is it that embroidery is so.darn.powerful??
Her "something blue" was not only meaningful but also modern and hidden. I was actually dying to add the word "namaste" somewhere but we didn't have room!I am all out of photos of her amazing wedding garters, but below are photos from her studio as well as a few unbelievably well-executed inversions. Custom Garter Spotlight: La Gartier Bride Kelley Romero's Romantic Southern Bayou Inspired Wedding Garter Set
Just finished: La Gartier bride Kelley Romero's Romantic Southern Bayou wedding garter set!! This special design was created using pieces of Kelley's mothers' wedding veil and gown. (If you watch our videos on instagram, then you will probably remember the beautiful vintage veil we had sitting on top of our studio lamp for 2 weeks. Her veil made our entire room feel more alive and beauty-infused, similar to how one single vase of roses can bring a room to life.)Originally, Kelley had requested a garter that would be romantic, whimsical, girly sparkly and unique to match her Hayley Paige gown but after we spoke via telephone, she and I decided to also add elements from her mother's wedding day ensemble. This took the significance of her garter set from a 5 to a 10 in my opinion!!! The best part?? All of the embellishments that we pulled from the vintage veil were IRIDESCENT, which couldn't have worked more perfectly with Kelley's love of Hayley Paige!!!Below are detailed photos of Kelley's unbelievably special wedding garter set! All of the tiny flowers that you see came from the crown of her mother's veil. This took hours upon hours of hand-sewing and cutting pieces off of Kelley's mothers' original veil, but to be completely honest, it was a blast!!The color of the light champagne pink fabric under the flowers was created to match the layered skirt on her gown as well as the pink ombré Sara Gabriel veil that Kelley will be wearing. (i die)
The two bridal buttons on either side of her "Hayley" toss garter were taken from her mother's gown.
The swarovski crystals that we placed inside the flowers and in little "cluster" arrangements on the back band of her garter were done in a mixture of clear and opal stones to match Kelley's other wedding accessories.
My favorite part? Kelley sent me the original tag from the inside of her mother's gown to be incorporated into her garter. Talk about a meaningful "something blue"! (or should I say "something navy blue"?)
Because Kelley ended up adoring her Hayley toss garter, I decided to make her a third, simple pink velvet toss for the garter removal part of her reception. The flower at the center and the little iridescent sequin leaf in the middle were both taken from the crown on her mother's veil.Kelley, I could go on forever about how incredible these garters turned out, but what I can't communicate in words is the feeling that came over me when I had your wedding music playing while slowly hand-sewing the details on the back band. Something truly magical happened in those moments, like weaving your love of Mark together with your love of your Mom and...maybe, just maybe, the love you will have for your future daughter. -

Published! Our Art Deco Aurora Wedding Garter featured on Ruffled Blog today!
It is with great pleasure that I announce that our shoot with Alexis June Weddings was published on the uber-popular wedding blog Ruffled today! If you are a greenery-obsessed bride-to-be like so many that I know, then you are going to ADORE this shoot! Personally, I am partial to the gorgeous images of our Aurora garter and the classic ivory Jimmy Choo wedding heels that appear about halfway through this unbelievalbly EPIC editiorial collaboration, but perhaps that is because the Aurora garter has been apart of our collection for nearly 4 years now. Call me biased. Call me partial. Call me whatever you want because I am on cloud nine about this feature today!
A big thank you to Brandi of Alexis June Weddings for inviting us to be apart of this shoot last winter and to Jimmy Choo for providing the prettiest wedding heels a girl could ask for.
